 Brief Description: EVENT NARRATIVE: A tornado destroyed a hunting lodge and nearby outbuildings. The tornado also severely damaged a house, tossed a trailer 100 yards, and caused tree damage. EPISODE NARRATIVE: Numerous thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening of May 5th produced large hail, damaging winds, several tornadoes, and flash flooding in southeast South Dakota.  Brief Description: EVENT NARRATIVE: A tornado tracked along East 3rd Street in Winner, blowing down carports, trees, and tractor-trailers. A large barn was destroyed east of Winner; the curved roof was blown off in one piece and tossed across a corral. Another machine shed was blown apart. Based on the extent of the damage, wind speeds were estimated around 75 mph through town with peak winds 95 to 115 mph. EPISODE NARRATIVE: Large hail and strong wind gusts accompanied a severe thunderstorm over southern Todd and Tripp Counties. A tornado crossed the town of Winner, causing minor damage in town and destroying two barns east of town.

 Brief Description: A tornado destroyed a church, a county highway shop, several garages, several small sheds, a mobile home, a camper, and a ten thousand bushel silo. The church was ripped from its foundation, with debris and contents blown over a wide area. Tree damage includes uprooted trees, and power lines were blown down. A resulting power outage lasted for several hours. Windows in many homes and some businesses were broken. The Herrick Honey House was severely damaged, and a honey truck was tipped over. Holes were punched in the walls of some houses by flying debris.

 Brief Description: A tornado, crossing into Sanborn County from Jerauld County, destroyed or severely damaged several buildings on two farms. The tornado lifted the roof off a house. Another farmhouse had windows blown out, and shingles and aluminum siding torn off. Destroyed buildings included a barn, garage, outbuildings, and other small structures. Vehicles inside the destroyed garage were damaged. The tornado also caused tree, power line, and crop damage.

 Brief Description: A supercell thunderstorm tracking southeast produced a fifth tornado in Hand county. The tornado touched downed south of Vayland and tracked southeast and into Beadle county. See storm data for southeast South Dakota. The tornado formed in a heavily wooded area tracking along a county road producing F1 damage to several farmsteads. A mobile home was flipped and destroyed. A grain storage building was flipped onto a car. Several homes had significant roof and window damage. Numerous trees were snapped. As the tornado crossed into Beadle county it was producing F2 damage.
